Willie Mazant Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 17, 2019.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2Timothy 4:7

Mrs. Willie Irene Franklin Mazant born Tuesday, December 2, 1930, the youngest of ten children of Elliott and Helen Franklin, was a native of Mobile, Alabama. Mrs. Mazant was a former resident of New Orleans, Louisiana and Fort Worth, Texas. She passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the age of 88 at The Harrison at Heritage Nursing Home in Fort Worth, Texas.

Mrs. Mazant was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all. She was a longtime member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Mobile, Alabama where she served as a member of the Chancel Choir. Her faith was the foundation on which she based her life. Her boundless adoration of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ left an indelible imprint on her family and all of those whose path she crossed on her journey through life. Mrs. Mazant was a retired clerk from Schwegmann's Super Market in New Orleans, Louisiana.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and her beloved husband of 50 years, Percy Mazant Sr. She was the proud mother of Percy (Audrelle) Mazant, Jr., Paul Anthony Mazant, and Patrick Mazant. She had twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves a host nieces, nephews, and cousins. She loved her dear friend and caregiver, Jane Gordon, who worked with her daily to bring joy to her all the way until her death.

The family also would like to thank the Harrison at Heritage Nursing Home of Fort Worth Texas, Dr. Hedieh Davanloo MD, the USMD Clinic of Arlington, Texas, and Holy Savior Hospice of Bedford, Texas for all of their services.
