Woodrow Wilson Bean II (affectionately known by all as "Woody") passed away January 31, 2008, after an eight year battle with cancer. He was a life long resident of El Paso and Hudspeth Counties. He was born to Woodrow Bean Sr. and Fay McAdoo Bean on August 20, 1941. He graduated from Ysleta High School, Sul Ross University and received his Dr. of Jurisprudence from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. Woody's thirty-five year legal career as a lawyer also included terms as both a Federal Magistrate and Judge of 243rd Texas District Court. He was a member of the El Paso and Texas Bar Associations, served terms on the Civil Service Commission, and Thomason Hospital Board of Directors. Woody was very active in local and State wide politics, he was a loyal and active a member of the Democratic Party.Woody was blessed with a tremendous love of life and he lived every day to the fullest. His always positive "Can do" attitude endeared him to people of all ages and walks of life. He was always willing to help those in trouble without judgment and with great enthusiasm. Woody didn't know the meaning of the word Quit. He is survived by his loving wife Sandra, daughters Denise Bean and Diana Polston, son Woodrow W. Bean III, son in law Rodney Polston, daughter in law Tamara Bean, and grandchildren Woodrow W. IV and Savannah Bean, Sunney and Cash Polston, and Misty and Kendell Blackmon. Pallbearers will be Jaime Alvarado, Jimmy Carrizal, Wesley Stubbs, Tom Engle, Rodney Polston, Billy Null, David Armstrong, and Jim Bo Bean. Honorary Pallbearers include: Breck Bean, Jim Engle, Jody Stubbs, Andy Stubbs, Reese Lutich, Joe Rios, Jon Witte, Hector Zavaleta, Bob Garland, Martin Lettunich, John Whitaker, Mack Whitaker, Doug Lofton, Sib Abraham, Ray Salazar, Ed Lerma, Lee Conner, Vic Apodaca, Brunson Moore, John Campbell, Luther Jones, Ignacio Alvarado, Louie Aguilar, Henry Pena, Bobby Malooly, Gene McCardle, Jim Fitzgerald, Paul Lettunich, Bobby Surratt, Jimmy Salome, Gary Whiteker, Vince Kemendo, Louie Lutich, Richard Zelt, Kit Bramblett, Coll Bramblett, Russel Bramblett, Jess Burner, Scott Bean, Scott Bean Jr., Joe Foster, Marty Emmest, Red Hershenberg, Sam Paxson, Johnny Stubbs, Red Strachan, Jerry Rogers, Charles Engle, Jim Armstrong, Jim Bean, George Eads, Milton Massey, John, Doug, Bubba, Clay and John Paul Cowan, Juan Stockmeyer, Abdon Lares, and Dr. Byron Chesbro. Grave side service will be held at the Ft. Hancock Cemetery, Texas on Monday, February 4, 2008 at 1:30 p.m.. Services directed by Hampton Valley Mortuary of Fabens.
