Xavier Scott Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 22, 2023.
Xavier Shane Scott was mercifully called home to Heaven on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the age of 33. He was born at Alton Memorial Hospital on May 15, 1989, son of Lisa and David Scott Jr. He resided in Los Angeles, California at the time of his passing.

Xavier was preceded in death by his grandparents, Austin Meekin III, Raymond Williams, Lillian Gail Scott, Jane McManemy, and Veronica Freese.

He is survived by his loving parents Lisa Scott and David and Cathy Scott Jr.; grandparents Barbara Williams, David and Evelyn Scott; his siblings, David (Sarah) Scott III, Jessica (R.J.) Premis, Autumn Scott, and Carli Scott; nephews and nieces Hailee Myers, Gavin Myers, David (Bo) Scott IV, Adaline Scott, Roscoe Premis, Stella Premis, and Theo Premis; as well as his dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Xavier cherished all of these relationships deeply.

Xavier attended Edwardsville High School and was a graduate of Xavier University, the School of Hard Knocks. His style, charisma, and magnetic personality captivated those around him. He had the greatest sense of humor- the ability to make you laugh until you cried. It was impossible to dislike Xavier; to know him was to be his best friend. During his time in California, Xavier worked for an organization called Healing Hands, where he ministered to many people who were pursuing rehabilitation services for addiction. Countless stories of his impact have poured in from those whose lives he deeply touched. Xavier's heart was pure gold and his light shined brightly. It was not uncommon to see him praying with the homeless or caring for those who were hurting by consoling them. Even through some of the darkest tragedies in his own life, Xavier always lifted others up, encouraging them to have hope and keep moving forward. He had a sincere love for God and would often send songs of praise, verses of Scripture, and words of hope to encourage those around him with the love of Christ. He will be terribly missed.

As his family, we are devastated by Xavier's passing. No words can do justice in describing how incredible Xavier really was and how much his life impacted others for the greater good. We only gain comfort in knowing with certainty that he is in Paradise with the Savior. "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away" Revelation 21:4.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service, which will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at The Gathering United Methodist Church, located at 2360 McCausland Ave, St. Louis, MO, 63143. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. and the service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Lunch reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Xavier's cousins, the Kern family, and their Young Life Ministry at https://x3212.younglife.support/the-kern-family-is-off-to-puerto-rico

Xav,

Your smile and laugh were contagious. You were always friendly and kind. The time we spent together was always a fun time. I wish I would have spent more time hugging you and telling you how much I cared, instead of preaching and mothering you. You were always so thoughtful and would always check in to see how I was doing. It was just last week when you told me you had just arrived back home. I knew you left us to pursue happiness and find your calling in life, but I will never forget all the times you knocked on my door and came by to share your time. You truly were a gift and I wish there was more time to spend with you.

I found this photo in my archives and there is nothing more wonderful than to see you smile.

Until we meet again, my dear friend.

To Lisa, David, Jessica, Scotty, and entire family.

Xavier was not just a neighbor to me, or friend in passing. He was a best friend. We talked all the time and most recent a week or so ago. He always would stick up for people. His laugh and goofiness was contagious. I am grateful to have been your neighbor growing up next to Xavier and being a part of his life.

Prayers to all of your during this extremely difficult time.

Love, Peter Parsons

Sending my love and condolences to all of you.
"Neph" Xavier was an awesome young man and I truly loved that boy. He has always kept in touch and was always so full of hope and life and we had a great visits and conversations and always had a great time together. It breaks my heart knowing he won´t make our spring bear hunt with us. There´s so much he wanted to do up here with family he really wanted to meet.
Love ya Neph.
