Yana Pichardo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 7, 2024.
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our precious sister Yana Loy Pichardo on October 28, 2024. She is survived by father Hector Pichardo, siblings Asia Pichardo Moreno, Twila Pichardo (Dean Lane), Selene Pichardo (Andy Clemetson), Sol Pichardo (Jessica Borrego,) aunts and uncles Xavier Pichardo, Maria and Jim Henry, Laura Vargas, Richard Vargas, cousin Dita Gonzalez, nieces and nephews Bono Moreno, Fausto Ramos, Xena Lane, Sierra Lane (Seth Hawkins), Ayla Pichardo, Daisy Pichardo, Aten Gutierrez (Autumn Kalisto) and extended family. Preceded in death by mother Rosa Pichardo and cousin Anthony Callaghan.

Yana passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in her sleep, due to a previously undiagnosed health condition. It is a shock and a huge loss to our family and we will miss her more than words can convey. She was not only our sister, but our best friend as well...and the light of our lives!

We are so proud of Yana's accomplishments and talents such as graduating from Corban University after attending McKay High School, bravely traveling solo across the US and Mexico, and supporting her family and many friends by attending countless milestone events faithfully.

Yana was a true people person who dearly loved all of you and appreciated your loyal love and friendship. We feel her loss profoundly and now seek to feel comforted by your happy memories.

We want to honor our sister and will be sharing details regarding a memorial service at legacy.com and on facebook in the near future. We invite you to please leave a memory or uplifting comment about Yana. We will be eternally grateful and want to thank you in advance for taking the time to share with us your healing words. Have a blessed day!

I grew up knowing Yana and this was the hardest thing to know my surrogant sister passed away. I got emotional and knew Sol her brother. They meant the world to me and it take me forever to think of something wonderful to say about Yana. We attended McKay high back then in the mid 90s and I just can't believe she is gone. She was caring and she got to to do some amazing things before God called her home to Heaven.

May Yana rest in peace and someday we will meet again in the Gods Heaven.

I will continue to pray for your family and love ones always.

From Thomas and Elizabeth thank you for giving us wonderful memories as a surrogant family.

Yana Loy and I became friends at Western Baptist. We bonded over books and kitzchy humor in the library where we both worked. We both loved languages and travel. That sweet extrovert adopted this introvert. We spent long hours talking about mental health, Jesus, and life and would touch base with each other in our adult lives just to check up on each other and give the other one kudos for our respective daily accomplishments. She always made everyone feel special and loved.

I´m so very sorry for your loss. When Lana and my sisters were growing up, Lana was always at our house. She had a beaming smile and was such a pleasure. She fit in and became like another family member. So thankful she is on the presence of Jesus and we will see her again. -Julie (Bassham) Hogan

I remember dear Yana Loy as a little girl with her beautiful smile. I met her when her mother Rosa babysat my daughter.
I am so sorry about this and send my condolences to the family.

I met Yana in 2nd grade. She was my first friend. She said "wanna chase boys with me?' She still would ask me that when we talked later in life. So much of my childhood memories is with her. She was so special and am so greatful for them memories that i have.

I went to school with Yana from elementary school thru college! I remember a birthday party at her house in elementary school, getting rides from her in her bug in high school, and her amazing laugh through it all!
