Yolanda Samuels Obituary
On the early morning of Tuesday, October 18,2022 peacefully at her home; the Lord called unto himself, his precious servant; Yolanda Marie Gill Samuels after 67 years on the battlefield for her Lord.
Her journey began on February 18,1955 in Lexington, Kentucky when she was born to the late Thomas A. and Mary P. Gill. Growing up in Lexington she was known to many as “Buncky”. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church where she served faithfully in the choir until her health would not permit.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Justin Marks, Jr, and Byron P. Gill and a aunt, Josephine Porter.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory, three children; NaTanya Gill, Miracle Samuels and Demetrius (Tairra) Gill, special son-in-love; Tony Hudson, three sisters; Carolyn Harding of Dayton, OH, Donnetta Taylor of Lexington, KY, and LaFaithia (Wayne) Cash of Arlington, TX, a brother; Thomas A. (Jane) Gill, four grandsons; Douglas and Christopher Burruss, Demetrius Jones and Amar Samuels, three granddaughters; Aniah and Brooklynn Samuels and Demetria Gill, five special friends; Teresa Strings, Bonnie Gay, Bonita Russell, Wanda Thomas and Harriet Broadus Grace. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends.

Buncky was the sweetest most supportive person I knew. She was ALWAYS the life of the party. I had the distinct pleasure of calling her my significant other. Even after we parted ways we still remained the best of friends and me and the family had just stopped by her house and hung out just days before she went home. She never fretted about her condition and always spoke positively about each day of life.

I only knew you as Yolanda and the last time we saw each other was at the Roundup Reunion we held at Jazzy G's. Even after all that time, we were able to reconnect and cut-a-fool... Your smile still lite up the room.
