Charles Fischer Obituary

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Charles R. Fischer, 77, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016.

Born in Adrian, Mich., Charles worked with Combustion Mechanical, retiring in March 2015. He was a retired volunteer fire chief in LaSalle Township in Monroe County from 1972-1975. Charles was a member of American Legion, Waynedale Post and Knights of Columbus, St. Charles.

Surviving are his wife, Donna M. (Waldvogel) Fischer; son, Robert (Patty) Fischer of Fort Wayne, Ind.; son, Richard (Kim) Fischer of Roanoke, Ind.; daughter, LeAnne (John) Shupe of Fort Wayne, Ind.; sisters, Carol Germond and Lisa Bennett of Adrian, Mich.; grandchildren, Michael (Kelly), Amanda, Taylor and Alexa Fischer; Tony, Kristen and Sierra Shupe; and great-grandsons, Collin and Ethan Fischer. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Lois Fischer; and infant daughter, Kristen Kelly Fischer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the service time. Visitation will also take place from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
