Melissa Zarn Obituary

Melissa MacKenzie "Kenzie" Zarn passed away peacefully June 5th, 2024. Kenzie was born on April 23rd, 1995 to Randy and Soni Zarn in Lewistown, Montana. Kenzie spent her childhood spending time with her large extended family. Her big sister, Kayla, was her very best friend. She loved her horses Divvy, Spike, and Pistol. She loved FFA and all of her friends at Fergus High School. Her perfect day was riding down a backroad with the windows down, blasting country music. That's exactly what she was doing when she was a passenger in a car accident on July 11th, 2011. She sustained a life changing traumatic brain injury. She never knew how to use her "inside voice" and then suddenly the next 13 years were so quiet. Kenzie remained in a persistent vegetative state but was able to live at home due to her parents loving devotion. Her caregiver "Grandma Vicki" attended to Kenzie for many years.

Kenzie is survived by: her parents Randy Zarn and Soni Klepzig-Zarn, sister Kayla Zarn, nephews Andrew, Jack and Walter, grandmother Betty Zarn and many more loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. July 11th, 2024 at Gigantic Warm Springs. Please bring your own chairs. If you wish to support the family with the memorial, donations can be made to the MacKenzie Zarn benefit account at any Stockman bank. Donations can also be made to Rockin' Wrangler Saddle Club or Tails as Old as Time senior dog rescue.
