Dustan Lee Biegler was born September 21, 1981, in Mobridge, South Dakota, to Jerome and Shelley Biegler; he was the third of nine children. The family settled in McCook, Nebraska, where his parents still reside, and where the majority of his childhood was spent.
Dustan moved to Lincoln in his late twenties, where he and a close friend established and grew a successful business, Apple Roofing, which quickly became a leader in the industry.
He recently discovered a passion for flying and had nearly completed his private pilot training. On January 11, 2023, at the age of 41, Dustan was involved in an aircraft accident, which took the lives of both him and his instructor.
With his natural gift to befriend and mentor others, Dustan impacted not only those close to him, but also countless contractors across the country. He always strongly encouraged those around him to reach their full potential. Dustan often used the metaphor of climbing a mountain and reaching a false summit, saying, "We go as far as we can see, and then we can see further."
A vigil service and viewing will be held at North American Martyrs Catholic Church in Lincoln on Thursday evening at 5:00 P.M. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 A.M. with burial following in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Valparaiso, Nebraska.
