LEIPSIC – Charles Urban Thomas Knueven, 76, of Leipsic, passed away at 7:52 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at his residence. He was born February 17, 1946, in Lima to the late Leonard and Stella (Verhoff) Knueven. On April 12, 1969, he married Kathleen Fleming, she preceded him in death on September 12, 2009.
Charles is survived by six children: Kevin Knueven of Leipsic, Keith (Chal Pivik) Knueven of Los Angelos, CA., Laureen Knueven of Leipsic, Jennifer (Chuck) Proctor of Pandora, Nathan (Kristin) Knueven and Scott (Jamie) Knueven, both of Leipsic; seven grandchildren: Gavin Werling, Riley Knueven, Myra, Emilee, and Harper Knueven, Skye and Chase Proctor; siblings: Al (Mary) Knueven, and Jane (Joseph) Uphaus; in-laws: Susan Knueven, Marilyn Knueven, Jeanne (Amin) Hassan, and Bill (Linda) Fleming.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Ed, and John Knueven; and a sister-in-law, Alvera.
Charles was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic. He was a Eucharistic Minister, and a member of the Holy Name, as well as the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Leipsic Eagles. Charles was a lifelong farmer. He loved farming, gator rides and ice cream. Charles was very proud of his kids, and he loved his family and grandchildren. Charles never knew a stranger and would carry on a conversation with everyone.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic, with Father Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
Memorial donations may be made to Putnam County Hospice or St. Mary's Catholic Church.
