Almost nine years later I learn of this mathematically unsurprising circumstance. I'm not absolutely confident that I met my uncle, but I recall having done so once. Many years ago, the mid-'60s, I visited Toledo with my parents, my father being Richard Duane Rowan (note the spelling). There I met my grandparents (for the final time?), my aunts, Margie, Bev, and Susan, and a cousin or two.
I'm struck by the reference to my grandmother, Jenny (Bare) Rowan-LoPresto. The hyphenated name offers up possibilities. I'd heard that Charlie the elder assumed Rowan as a name in lieu of LoPresto. Is that so? Was it a substitution or some other sort of grafting of names?
I have a framed photo of Grandpa Charlie staffing a bar. It's ironic in a way, because my mother's dad was the restaurateur.

Guillermo, Dominic and I will miss you, Uncle Larry. We're so glad for our short reunion a few summers ago. Dom treasures his ukelele and his time with you. We wish there had been more, but are grateful for the time we had.

You came into my life when I needed you most. You never left my side. It was hard to say So Long, but I know you are in a better and safer place with your Family and Friends.
You are my Guardian Angel now, I know I made you proud because you told me that many times. Thank you for that.
You are the greatest and most caring Dad a girl could ever ask for.
