Darren Compton Sr.

1967 - 2022

LIMA -- Darren E. Compton Sr., age 54, passed away on January 17, 2022, at 4:31 pm, at his residence.

Darren was born on March 25, 1967 in Lima, OH, to Orville Compton and Phyllis (Johnson) Compton, both of whom preceded him in death.

He loved going to the elks and spending time with friends and family. He had a deep appreciation of the great out doors and had a passion for fishing, camping, and traveling. He was known as jack of all trades master of none, and could always find a way to fix any problem. He cared for his family and friends above all else. He loved to talk on the phone to those closest to him. He was a loving and giving person, and there was nothing he wouldn't do for someone if they asked him for help. Darren was an exceptional man, and will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Survivors include: children, Darren (Lela) Compton Jr. and Kasey (Tyler) Compton; siblings, Missy (Ed) Carpenter, Susan (Carl) Stephens, Angela (Carl) Miller, Tonia (Guylin) Jones, Nickolas Compton, and Christopher (Kylie) Compton; grandchildren, Kylie Compton, Connor Compton, Carlee Compton, and Mason Compton; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: Parents, Orville and Phyllis Compton; as well as his brother, Orville "Boo" Compton Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at the Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes Eastside Chapel. Joe Compton Jr. will officiate the service. Burial will be in Ward Cemetery following the service. A public visitation will take place prior to the funeral from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 26, also at the Eastside Chapel.
