SHERWOOD, MI — David (Dave) Lynn Swallow, 63, formerly of Lima, peacefully joined the Lord after an unexpected cardiac arrest on October 4, 2021. He was surrounded by his family until Jesus carried him home.
Dave was born to Jack and Barbara Swallow (Zink) on July 19, 1958 in Lima, OH where he lived until moving to Union Lake in Michigan in 2007. Dave grew up visiting Union Lake with his grandpa throughout his childhood; a gift he was so passionate about passing on to his children and grandchildren.
Dave retired in 2018 after over 40 years of independent distribution. Dave loved cutting wood, was an avid outdoorsman, and most recently enjoyed clearing the woods on his property. He could often be found working on his tractor, riding his quad with his dog Cooper, or rooting for his Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved his family dearly and would give the shirt off his back to someone who needed it. Dave was a man of deep purpose and conviction and would fight for the things he believed in.
Dave was married to his best friend, Nanette and loved her with all of his heart. It was so apparent to those who knew him how much she meant to him and how deeply connected they are. His is also survived by his children; Julianne (David) Sanders, Kevin (Becky) Swallow, Jennifer (Shyam) Patel, Mark (Jamie) Fleming and 11 beautiful grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at VFW Post 5319 (120 Veterans Drive, Athens, Mi 49011) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The family requests donations be made to the Athens VFW in lieu of flowers.

Dear Nanette and Family,
This is your Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Floyd's daughter. I just wanted to tell you how terribly sorry I am to learn of your sadness in the loss of your beloved Dave. I know it's going to take a long while for the holes in your hearts to heal ... but, for now ...
God bless you as you grieve.
Again, I'm so very sorry,
Diane
