Nancy Bowersock Obituary

SPENCERVILLE -- Nancy Jane Bowersock, 74, of Spencerville, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 21, 2025. at Kessler Estates in Lima.

Nancy was born on April 26, 1951 in Lima, to the late Richard Leon and Jane Ruth (Orphal) Sunderland. She was a 1969 graduate of Spencerville High School. She, married the love of her life, James A. Bowersock, in Kossuth on August 27, 1971. Together they made their family home and farm near Spencerville and raised two boys. Nancy worked for Spencerville Physicians for 25 years, where she retired as their office manager.

Nancy had many joys in her life; ball room dancing with Jim in her younger years, playing cards, gardening, and swimming at the Allen County Senior Center. Most of all she loved shopping, almost as much as she loved her little dog, Charlie.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 54 years, James Bowersock; children, Daryl (Kimberly) Bowersock of Spencerville and Jason (Stephanie) Bowersock of Cridersville; seven grandchildren, Kalob (Hannah Meeker) Pitson of Cridersville, Gabe (Rachel) Prine of Spencerville, Emme Prine of St. Marys, Delanie Bowersock of Lima, Cooper Bowersock of Cridersville, Eden Bowersock of Spencerville, and Noah Bowersock of Spencerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Jane Sunderland.

There will be a visitation from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Spencerville with Father Jeff Walker officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Spencerville Cemetery.

Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Nancy and her family. In honor of Nancy, preferred memorials may be given to the Allen County Senior Citizen's Center.
