Jeffry Lynn Bowersock, 67, entered his Savior’s presence on December 17, 2025. He was born on July 3, 1958, and spent his childhood in Lima, Ohio.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Gayle E. Bowersock, and his beloved grandson, Jack Steven Bowersock.Jeff leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Debbie Turner Bowersock; his mother, Margaret “Peg” Bowersock; and his siblings, Deb Klippel, Mike (Roberta) Bowersock, Doug (Tracy) Bowersock, and Brenda (Rex) Compston. He is also survived by the mother of his children and former wife of 40 years, Roxanne Jackson. He was a devoted father to Michael (Mae) Bowersock, Steven (Stephanie) Bowersock, and Julie (Bryan) Callahan, and a proud Grandfather “Papa” to Katie, Joshua, Cody, Carson, Starr, Mia, Grace, Alayna, and Alli. He is also survived by his wife Debbie’s daughter, Becca Melton and grandson, Garrett Maxwell.

Following high school, Jeff enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving his country honorably for six years. While stationed in Alaska, he accepted Christ and felt God’s calling on his life to serve in full time church ministry. He later pursued theological education and devoted more than 35 years to ministry as a church planter and pastor, faithfully serving congregations and communities with compassion and conviction. He also had a heart for those around the world and participated in various mission trips including Argentina and Japan.

Outside of ministry, Jeff enjoyed golfing, pickleball, and writing poetry—creative pursuits that reflected his thoughtful and reflective spirit. He had a quick wit and enjoyed finding the perfect pun or dad joke to share with friends or family. Jeff will be remembered for his heart for church leadership and missions, his humor, his enduring love for his family, and his legacy of leading countless lives to Jesus through his lifelong ministry. Above all else, Jeff desired that his family and friends come to know Christ and one day join him in heaven.

Jeff’s Celebration of Life will be at 10 on Friday morning, March 20th, 2026, at  Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland, followed by a brief memorial at the Rossville, TN park gazebo. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Rossville Baptist Church building fund would be appreciated.

Lovingly written by the family to honor a life well lived.
