NICHOLAS SCHROEDER
VALRICO, Fla. — Nicholas Edward Schroeder, 32 of Valrico, FL and formerly of Bay Village died Sunday, August 14, 2016 at his residence after a 3 year courageous battle with Thyroid cancer.
He was born September 12, 1983 in Lima, Ohio to Edward and Jill (Maier) Schroeder. His father and stepmother, Joni Schroeder survive in Columbus Grove and his mother survives in Cleveland.
Survivors also include his daughter: Nicole Jordan of Tampa, FL; 2 brothers: Brice Schroeder of Columbus and Parker Schroeder of Findlay; maternal grandmother: Betty Maier of Lima; paternal grandfather: Othmar Schroeder of Columbus Grove; step-grandparents: Martin and Betty Schumacher of Columbus Grove; aunts and uncles: Greg (Marie) Maier of Bradenton FL, Judy (Mike) Niese of Glandorf, Bev (Bob) Baxter of Columbus Grove, Dale (Jan) Schroeder of Kalida, Diane (Mark) White of Grand Island, NY, Connie (Jerry) Dickman of Columbus Grove, Bruce (Sue) Schroeder of Whitehouse, Roy (Victoria) Schroeder of Columbus Grove, Marsha (Jeff) Ward of Worthington, Amy (Mark) Edelbrock of Columbus Grove, Joyce (Sid) Case of Beaverton, MI, Nancy (Mark) Chow of Zanesville, and Denise Schumacher (Dana Davis) of Batavia; many cousins; and his beloved dog: Sadie.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother Sally Schroeder; maternal grandfather, Tom Maier and two uncles, Alan Schroeder and Jeff Schumacher.
Nicholas was a 2002 graduate of Bay Village High School and was attending Cooley School of Law, Tampa, FL. He was a former U.S. Marine where he was a MP at Miramar Air Force Base, San Diego. He was a former Sheriff's deputy for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department. He was an avid OSU Buckeye and Miami Dolphin Fan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20 , 2016 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Columbus Grove with Fr. Tom Extejt and Pastor D. Keith Hamblen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rights by the Columbus Grove American Legion. Visitation will be Friday 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. till time of service at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Columbus Grove.

my son, erik, played football w/ Nick--I remember giving him rides home--can't think of the name of it but there's a zztop song I can still here him singing it in the back seat of my car on one of those rides home...thought of nick everytime I heard that song. lorri krauss
