FINDLAY — Ronald R Gallaher passed away at 1:10pm on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, OH.
Ron was born to Harold & Norma (Stevenson)Gallaher on September 3, 1939 in Brownsville, PA. He married Marie (Jones) on July 24, 1964 in Columbus Grove, OH and she survives in Findlay, OH.
Ron is also survived by his three children, Michael of Findlay, OH, Timothy (Jennifer) of Canton, MI, and Cheryl (Brian) Leckey of Findlay, OH. He is also survived by 5 grandsons, Gage Leckey of Toledo, OH, Brady Leckey of Findlay, OH, Zachary, Andrew, and Griffin Gallaher all of Canton, MI.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents as well as his twin sister Bonnie (Jack) Ashton and brother Harold Gallaher Jr. He graduated from South Hills High School in 1957 and attended the University of Pittsburgh.
Ron worked at Marathon Oil Company from 1960 to 1992, working in Findlay, OH, Houston, TX and Bedford Heights, OH. Upon his retirement his work included Winebrenner Nursing Home, Birchaven Retirement Village, and Macklin Intergenerational Institute. He was very active in bowling and softball, and was an avid golfer. Ron was also involved in the Findlay Amateur Hockey Association having coached various teams that his sons played on in Findlay as well as Hudson, OH for 15 years. He was also the announcer for the Findlay High School hockey team for 30 years. His favorite sports teams were ANY team from Pittsburgh, PA. Ron was also a member of First Presbyterian Church of Findlay, Findlay Moose Lodge #698, and a past member of Findlay Elks Lodge #75.
Ron's family would to thank Bridge Home Health & Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Ron.
Ron's wishes were that there be no memorial service.

My sympathies to Ron's family at this time of loss. I worked with Ron at Winebrenner and Birchaven and always found him to be such a kind person. He always had a smile and an encouraging word.
