LIMA — Ronald E. Jones, Sr., 83, passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born on May 15, 1938 in Lima, to Henry M. and Grace E. (McVicker) Jones, who both preceded him in death. On September 3, 1955, he married Nona Eileen (Mullenhour) Jones, who preceded him in death on January 2, 2008.
Ronald was a Line Inspector at Ford Lima Engine Plant for over 37 years, retiring in 1997. He attended the Church On The Rock and had been a member of the Tabernacle of God, where he served as the secretary/treasurer for many years. He was a member of the Lima Eagles Aerie 370.
He enjoyed watching WWE and Judge Judy on TV. He also enjoyed people watching and going out to eat. He loved singing karaoke and flying in his son-in-law's plane.
Surviving are his sons; Ronald E. (Ardella) Jones, Jr., Steven W. (Mary Lou) Jones and Joseph A. (Mary) Jones, all of Lima; his daughters Deborah I. (Eugene) Thompson, Tamara S. (Randall) Hern, Rebekah A. (Steve) Shulaw all of Lima and Charity L. (Conrad) Sandlin of Wapakoneta; his daughter-in-law Katheleen Jones of Columbus Grove; his thirty-three grandchildren, sixty great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; his sister Patricia Musto of Lima.
He was preceded in death by his sons Henry Michael "Mike" Jones and Woodrow W. Jones; his brothers Henry Jones, Jr. and Robert Jones; his sisters Kathleen Miller and Janice Hicks; his brother-in-law William Musto.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021 and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, with the family receiving friends for one hour prior to the service.
Interment in Salem Mennonite Cemetery will immediately follow the service.
