THOMAS OSTING

DELPHOS — Thomas A. Osting, of Delphos, passed away at 3:40 am, Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Van Wert County Hospital.

He was born to Albert and Alvera (Saum) Osting on December 13, 1941 in Lima, Oh. He was united in marriage to Mary Jane (Holdgreve) Osting who survives in Delphos.

He is also survived by two sons, Dennis (Diana) Osting of Ft. Jennings, and Jeff (Lisa) Osting of Glandorf; two daughters, Cynthia (Kevin) Rahrig of South Bend IN, and Jennifer (David) Wright of Venedocia; one brother, Michael (Jeanie McConahea) Osting of Delphos; and one sister, Norma (Neil) Grone of Westchester, OH. Tom was also survived by 11 grandchildren, Dr. Kyle (Dr.April) Rahrig, Paul (Chantal) Rahrig, Collin (Jennifer) Rahrig, Alisha (Tyler) Mistisshen, Adam (Courtney) Osting, Erin Osting, Alexis Osting, Cole Osting, Haley (Matt) McVicker, Cody Wright, and Caden Wright; and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter-in-law, Peggy Osting.

Tom was retired from Greve Chrysler in Van Wert where he was in Car Sales and was a Sales Manager for twenty six years. He was also a beloved Driver's Ed Driving Instructor for fifteen years. He was a forty one year member of the Delphos Fire Dept. serving as the local president and assistant chief and was on the Van Wert County Fair Board over twenty years. Tom was a member of Delphos St. John's the Evangelist Church. He was also a member of the Jaycees for many years serving as the state vice president, and a member of the Sportsman Club, the VFW, and the Eagles.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at St. John the Evangelist Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Fr. Daniel Johnson will officiate with Fr. Charles Obinwa assisting.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 17, from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and Monday, July 18, 2016 from 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. where a Parish Wake will be held at 7:30 p.m..
