WALTER CARR Obituary

WALTER LANE CARR Walter Lane Carr, age 77, of Brookfield, MO; passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024, at his beloved farm surrounded by family. Walter Lane was born on July 19, 1946, the son of Walter William and Winona Faye (Burd) Carr in Brookfield, MO. He grew up helping his father with the Jersey and Guernsey cow dairy farm. On October 19, 1968, Walter was united in marriage to Marilyn Krieger in Mission, KS; she survives him. Walter served in the United States Coast Guard and for a time lived in the Washington D.C. area. While in D.C. he hosted a yearly tractor toy show that was always a high light for him. Once retired after 24 years as a Warrant Officer, the family moved back to Brookfield to raise British White Park Cattle. Walter's blood ran green with his love for the John Deere brand, from his field ready tractor to his toy ones, that he never let his children play with when they were younger. Walter and his daughter, Laura, enjoyed butting heads about how to raise the cows to when to mow the hay in the summer. He also enjoyed his daily naps with one of the cats. Walter is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marilyn Carr of the home, his daughter, Laura Carr of Brookfield, MO; his son, Andrew Carr and wife Casey of Livermore, CA; two granddaughters, two sisters, Cheryl Calhoun of Brookfield, MO. and Carol Hawkins and husband Sandy of Kansas City, MO. and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Larry Carr, and one brother-in-law, Dennis Calhoun. Walter Lane Carr Arrangements are pending. Arrangements are under the direction of Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO.
