Kenneth Mayne Obituary

Kenneth Robert Mayne
1937-2014
On March 2, 2014 Kenneth R. "Bobby" Mayne passed away peacefully surrounded by family in his home in Sandy, Utah. During his time on earth Ken did what we all hope to do, through his generous spirit and love of life he left the world a better place. Ken was born April 20, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Blanche C. and Kenneth H. Mayne. He attended Ogden High, received a Bachelors degree from the University of Utah and a Masters from Claremont Graduate School.
His business career began at Hercules in 1961. He continued working in key executive positions with corporations both in the US, Europe and Asia including Ford Aerospace, Gould, Abex, IC Industries, Vickers, and Marketstar. Ken was also a director on numerous global boards. He successfully restructured over 40 companies and major operations and was recognized as a turnaround specialist and an inspirational leader. At times along the way of his corporate career, just for the fun of it, he participated in professional wrestling matches with his Dad and Brother. Den also owned two restaurants, The Alpine Prospector Lodge and Hula Bowl Bar, Park City and Blanche's Bistro in Ogden. He had a tremendous love of life and enjoyed just about everything the outdoors had to offer, especially fishing.
Ken is survived by his loving wife Joanne Broderick Mayne, his brother Shawn Mayne, sister Jodi Davis, daughter Cindy McCullough (Todd) and four wonderful grandchildren, Alexandra Linsley, Mac Linsley, Olivia Koch, Shane Lyon (Amber) and great grandchild Parker Lyon, Nephew Lonnie Mayne (Darcie) and their children Skyler, McKenzie, Colton and Brody, Niece Heather Davis Detlefson (John), brother-in-law John Broderick and sister-in-law Dianna Hart. He is preceded in death by his parents Blanche and Kenneth as well as his brother Ronald "Lonnie".
Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Chapel, 1950 E. 10600 S., Sandy, with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

Sorry to lose a.really good man, classmate and football team mate at Ogden High and Weber State. Ken was a consummate gentleman and a fierce competitor. I last talked with him when he was working with Marketstar. I know his last while on earth was hard and I am glad to remember him at his best. We will meet again.
