JOSEPH STRAGUZZI Obituary

Joseph G. Straguzzi, member of Teamsters Local 456 and a long time resident of Yonkers and Clinton, CT, born in the Bronx, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2007 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Charlotte "Lottie" Straguzzi. Devoted father of Claire (Herman) Staubi, Marianne (Joseph) Monopoli and Barbara (Les) Grillo. Joseph was born March 29, 1916 to Anthony and Leoluchina (Provenzano) Straguzzi. On May 21, 1935, he married Charlotte Slipek in Brooklyn, NY. Mr. Straguzzi is also survived by six loving grandchildren, nine loving great grandchildren, a brother, Patrick Straguzzi, sisters, Marion VanWart and Josephine Carney. Joseph was also predeceased by two brothers and one sister He attended Public School #4 and Roosevelt High School where he was a member of the track team. As a young man of eighteen, Joseph began his career by founding and operating Empire Package Delivery Service which later became Joe Straguzzi Movers of Yonkers. Mr. Straguzzi was also a driver for the Railway Express Agency and then as a driver and dispatcher for the Yonkers Department of Public Works. He was a lifetime member of Post 375 and served his country during WWII as a Corporal in the US Army. Friends may call at the Sinatra Memorial Home, 601 Yonkers Ave, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at St.Ann Church on Tuesday at 9:30 am. Entombment Ferncliff Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. www.sinatraffh.com
