MICHAEL ROE Obituary

Michael P. Roe, Sr. of Rye died after a long illness at his home. He was 82. Mr. Roe worked as an Insurance/Real Estate Broker for Gronau-Doran Agency in New York City. Mr. Roe was born on August 18, 1918 in the Bronx. He was educated in the Bronx and graduated from Morris High School in 1936. He attended Columbia and Fordham Universities in New York. Mr. Roe served in the Army during World War II from 1941 to 1946, attaining the rank of Staff Sargeant. He belonged to the American Legion in Rye. Mr. Roe lived in Rye for the past 48 years. Before that, he lived in the Bronx. Locally, he was a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Police Reserves in Rye and the American Legion. He is survived by Ruth T. Roe, his wife of 53 years, six children, Ceceilia King of Killingworth, CT, Barbara Jamison of Killingworth, CT, Marianne Roe of Hopewell Junction, NY, Michael Roe, Jr. of Greenwich, CT, Catherine Groglio of Rye, NY, Lisa Gasparrini of Kent, NY and seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the William Graham Funeral Home, 1036 Boston Post Rd., Rye. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Resurrection Tuesday 10 am. Interment Greenwood Union Cemetery. Friends may send memorial donations to Phelps Hospice, Phelps Memorial Center, 701 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591-1096. WILLIAM H.
