Robert Ullman Obituary

Robert H. Ullman

Tappan - Robert (Bob) H. Ullman, 77, of Tappan, New York, passed away on May 26, 2020, surrounded by family, after a long and heroic battle with Parkinson's disease.

Bob was born to Leonard and Ida Ullman, on July 10, 1942, in Manhattan. Bob was graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, NY and from Baruch College, NY with a degree in accounting.

He married Lorraine, the apple of his eye in January 1967, after they met at a dance.

Surviving Bob are his beloved wife Lorraine B. Ullman; his children Jennifer S. Ullman (Matthew D. Jones), Joseph P. Ullman (spouse), Liv B. Van de Graaff (Adrian Van de Graaff); his two beautiful grandchildren Tyler and Abbey Ullman; his sister Sandra Mintz, and his niece and nephews.

Bob will be remembered for being a loving husband, father and friend. Each day, he delighted in socializing with friends over a cup of coffee or a good meal. He enjoyed taking walks with his wife, and was a regular visitor to the gazebo in Piermont, where he mingled with others who gathered to admire the scenery.

He served for 22 years in the United States Army National Guard, in the Medical Unit out of West Point, NY. Bob retired from the National Guard in 2004. Bob was a dedicated volunteer, working with AARP and local libraries to provide residents help with accounting and taxes.

Bob is interred at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, NY after a graveside ceremony.

Memorial contributions may be made to any Parkinson's organization, to The Jewish Home Family, Rockleigh, NJ ( https://www.jewishhomefamily.org/contact-us/), or please donate to a charity of your choice.

Robert is my Dad. His one year anniversary is on May 26, 2021. It has been a rough year without him. I miss him very much. He was a wonderful father and person. His humor, smile, kindness, and joy for life are surely missed. I hope my Dad knows that we are thinking of him daily and do what we are able to honor his name. Love you Dad for ever!

My sincerest condolences to Lorraine and family. We moved into the neighborhood about 9 years ago. Bob always had a kind word and smile to greet all of us and he would surprise us with a gift around the holidays. He will surely be missed.
