Sophia Frentsos Obituary
Sophia Frentsos, 58, of West Nyack, died Saturday, February 18, 2012, with her family by her side. Born Sophia Kaldis in Pylos, Greece in 1953, she came to the US at 18 years of age to pursue the American dream. She met and married George Frentsos in 1973 and became the proud mother of two sons. Sophia loved family, gardening, cooking, sewing and reading. She was known for her endless energy, work ethic, and always putting others before herself. She devoted much of her time and energy to being a caregiver and nurturer to her family and friends, including her husband who passed away in 2010. Sophia will always be remembered for her open and welcoming home, that never knew a stranger. She will be severely missed.
Sophia is survived by her son Dennis, her son Jason and daughter-in-law Melissa; her grandchildren Josiah, Lydia and Benjamin; and her brothers George, Lakis and Nikos Kaldis. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Frentsos.
The viewing will be on Tuesday, February 21, from 2-4 pm and the Memorial Service at 7 pm at Sorce Funeral Home in West Nyack, NY.

Dennis and Jason,
I really wish this were not the case yet. (I know we all wish that) I have known your family all my life. I will always rmember her for putting others first, being a hard worker and her love for the Lord. She was so caring. I will miss seeing her at church and Pathmark. Laura (Marshall) Anderson

Dear Dennis and Jason,
Your dear Mother and I were friends many years ago when we lived in Valley Cottage. She will always be in my heart, my precious Sophia, a woman who loved the Lord and always put others before herself. She treated and loved my children as her own. My husband Tom and your Father, George, were wonderful friends, who are now enjoying each other in Heaven and have welcomed your dear Mother with open arms. I am now living in Virginia and will send you a letter to your parents' home in West Nyack.
