Schaefer, William A.

William A. Schaefer of Yonkers died on Monday, January 6, 2014 at age 50. Born on September 20, 1963 to Michel and Irene (Pajer) Schaefer in Yonkers where he was raised and graduated from Stepinac High School in 1981, he also attended Iona College and Columbia University. Mr. Schaefer worked as the Sales Manager for Sleepy's in Yonkers on Central Avenue and was currently working at the time of his death. He was a Parishioner of Christ the King Church. He is survived by his mother Irene Schaefer of Greenacres, Florida and his brother Kevin (Tara) Schaefer and his niece Katie. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on both Thursday and Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be in Christ the King Church on Saturday, January 11th at 10:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Thanks for all of the great memories. I will never forget going to the 2000 World Series game 1 with you. It's hard to believe that we were just at the raider/jet game a few weeks ago. Thanks for being such a great friend to my uncle jim and thanks for all of the great memories we've had together over the years. You will be missed my friend.

The Quarterback and First Basemen, the organizer of countless games as a kid.Football without a jacket in the snow, baseball in the heat of summer . The one who put up with all the antics of the boys in the Yonkers Arden & Rudolph neighborhood and beyond.
