Angelina Buckman Obituary

BUCKMAN, ANGELINA BUTERA, 91, died peacefully at Jewish Hospital Saturday, June 9, 2007. She was born September 28, 1915, to John and Rena Butera in Dallas, TX. She moved to Shepherdsville, KY in 1945 after marrying J.D. Buckman Jr. In 1952 the family moved to Frankfort, KY when her husband became Attorney General of The Commonwealth of Kentucky under Governor Lawrence Weatherby. She has resided in Louisville since 1970. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and former member of Big Spring Country Club and for 12 years opened her home and belonged to the Moms in Touch. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, J.D. Buckman Jr.; her beloved daughter, Carletta Angelina Buckman; and sister, Michelina Kavanagh. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Buckman; granddaughter, Ashley Smith (Gill Potter) Ashley's parents Cheryl and Wayne Smith; her sister, Mary Ann Cassteel; cousins, Angelina Alioto, Catherine Papale, Angelina Andrews, Mayme Christensen, Emanuel Paternostro and Jean Hatzell; nieces and nephews, Mickey Rudman, Kathy Durham, Jim Kavanagh and Marian Cook; and great-great-niece and namesake, Angelina Kavanagh. Funeral services for Angelina Butera Buckman will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Second Presbyterian Church, 3701 Old Brownsboro Rd. Visitation with Ann and the family will be in the church parlor immediately following the service. A private burial service will be held at Hebron Cemetery in Shepherdsville, KY. Pearson's is in charge of arrangements.
