Kay Hettich Obituary

Hettich, Kay L.,

of Kettering, Ohio, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Sacred Heart Village.

Kay was employed at West Carrollton Public Library. She was Louisville's first female lifeguard and was ushered into her position during a ceremony presided over by Mayor Farnsley at the Wyandotte Pool.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom; and parents, Charles and Alberta Bruner. She is survived by her daughter, Vicky Harris (Dewayne); her sister, Lynn; brother-in-law, Ronald Shoemaker, Sr.; her nephews, Ronald Shoemaker, Jr. (Debbie), Jeffrey (Donna), and Tommy (Davida); great niece, Lexie; and great nephews, Jeffrey, Jr. and Brockton.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time at 12 noon Saturday at Ratterman and Sons, 10600 Taylorsville Road - Jeffersontown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Belmont United Methodist Church, 2701 So. Smithfield Rd., Dayton, OH 45420 or Al-Anon. Online condolences may be made at www.Ratterman.com.
