Ollie was one of the sweetest people I ever had the pleasure of knowing. She was a happy person and loved to share her happiness with others. It is comforting to know she is with the Lord she loved so deeply. She always ended her phone calls with "I love you", and I know she did. I just hope she knows how very special she was to me.

I can't believe Aunt Ollie is gone. She was a gem.
I loved it when mom, Ollie & Mattie were together. They were like 3 peas in a pod & shared a Hammons attribute that the men always joked about!
Ollie was a kind, generous, & loving soul. She loved her family with a passion & will be missed but not forgotten.

Dear family,
I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Ollie's passing, but to know that she is in a better place and completely healed, is comforting. I hope you each find comfort in also knowing this.
In thinking of Aunt Ollie, I want to share two of my many memories of her. One memory is when she would visit us at Christmas time when I was younger. She always wore a beautiful woolen, red suit when she visited. Aunt Ollie was always welcome to Mama and Daddy's home (Ella Mae and Roy Ballew, Sr), and she always came with a smile on her face.
The other memory is after I married and eventually had a family. My firstborn was Michael (in 1982), and when Aunt Ollie met him she told me, "He is the most handsome, beautiful baby I have ever seen." When I would send Aunt Ollie Christmas cards, I would sometimes include photos of my children, as I didn't get to see much. I still have a sweet note she wrote when Michael got married in 2007. In her note she told me that she thinks Michael "looked like Jesse" and that "he definately had the Ballew look" in him.
That is the last letter I have from her, but will always treasure it.
I wish I could be come up to the funeral, but I won't be able to.
Please know that each of you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Sandra Kay (Ballew) Currin
