Paula Wimsatt Obituary
91, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Nazareth Home with her family by her side.
She was a native of Detroit, Michigan and was a daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Dengel. Paula was a 1948 graduate of Marygrove College, having received her bachelor's degree in mathematics.
She married Frank E. Wimsatt in October 1949 and they moved to Louisville, where they raised their five children.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, her oldest son, Mark and her sister, Catherine Paisley Gardner.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Karen), Peter (Jane), Paula Ecton (David), Richard (Nancy) and her daughter-in-law, Terri. She also is survived by ten grandchildren, Jessica Green (Jace), Christopher (Mekensie), Jill (Erik Nelson), Elaine Jennings (Carl), Gregory, Alyssa Ecton, Richard, Brian, Amy Bell (Debbie) and Jeffrey; three great-grandchildren, Lacey and Ryder Green, Charli Jennings.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Jane Cornett and the caregivers at Magnolia Springs and Nazareth Home for their compassionate care of Paula.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, September 19 at St. Albert the Great, 1395 Girard Drive with burial to follow at St. Rose Cemetery, Springfield, KY. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m., Sunday September 18 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, "in St. Matthews".
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Frank and Paula Wimsatt Family Endowment Fund at St. Xavier High School or to the Nazareth Home.
