LOWELL

Anastasia Ann (Georgekakos) Hollis, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died peacefully December 5, 2022, with her daughter at her side.

She was the beloved wife of the late William Hollis Sr.

Ann was born in Lowell, May 16, 1926, the daughter of the late Charles and Eleni (Tavoularis) Georgekakos.

She received her early education in the Lowell school system and was a proud graduate of Lowell High School. Ann continued her education at Lowell Commercial College.

Ann met Bill at Lowell High School, they married on June 27, 1948, and settled in the Highlands to raise their children. Until her children were born, she worked at Otis Elevator in Lowell.

Ann enjoyed life, her family, and many friends. Tireless and selfless with an indomitable spirit. A fabulous cook, her lamb dish was not to be missed, followed by her Greek desserts. She and Bill traveled extensively, notably to Greece, Aruba, and the Bahamas, and touring coastal Maine and New Hampshire. A devoted mother, Ann will always be remembered for her warm and caring ways, showering her family with loads of love.

Ann's family would like to thank the entire staff at Belvidere Healthcare Center for their compassionate care and love during her stay.

She is survived by two sons, William Hollis Jr. of Haverhill, and Paul C. Hollis of Seabrook, NH, and a daughter, Marlena E. Strules of Dracut. Three grandchildren, Nicole Hollis and her significant other Chris Drane of Somerville, Chandra Cloutier and her husband Benjamin of North Andover, and Christian Hollis of Portsmouth, NH. Two great-grandchildren, Jax Cloutier and Scarlet Cloutier, both of North Andover. Several nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Mary Ann Ducharme of Tyngsboro, and nephew, Peter Hollis of Colorado. The last of nine siblings, she was the sister of the late William, John, Louis, George, Christopher, and Nicholas Georges, Vasiliki "Bessie" Samaras, and Stella Theokas. She adored her devoted late son-in-law, Michael J. Strules, and her late nephew, Charles Georges.

Family and friends will be received at the MORSE-BAYLISS Funeral Home, 122 Princeton Boulevard, Lowell, on Friday from 9 AM to 10:45 AM, followed by her Funeral Service at 11 AM.
