I'll always remember Mrs. Welcome and her impressive style and devotion to her family and community. While it's sad to discover that she's gone, we can all take comfort in knowing she left this place (Pawtucketville, Lowell, the state forest, everyone's backyard...) a better place than before she graced it with her energy. I wish I could have thanked her, but I know she would have done it all anyway, whether anyone thanked her or not.

Anne was a wonderful person and a great mentor. She taught me valuable lessons that I will carry through my life. I want to thank you for sharing your mother not only with me, but with the entire Lowell community. I think I will always remember her best for the beautiful garden surrounding her yard. She never seemed tired of working in it. May God hold her close.

I met Anne over 20 years ago when I first started working for the Division of Planning and Development for the City of Lowell. She was active in the Pawtucketville Citizen's Council and the topic was the Temporary Rourke Bridge at that time. We had many lengthy discussions on the benefits and drawbacks of the bridge location and many other neighborhood issues that followed over the next several years. She was a true neighborhood activist with the best interest of the City as her primary goal. She was a good citizen and I am proud to have made her acquaintance and to have known her friendship and support over the years. My sympathy to her family. She was a great woman who will be fondly remembered.
