Emile J. "Pete" Gauthier, Jr.
formerly of Lowell; 65

TYNGSBOROUGH -- Mr. Emile J. "Pete" Gauthier, Jr., age 65, a resident of Tyngsborough for the past 20 years, formerly of Lowell, died Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Lowell General Hospital following a long illness. For 43 years, he was the beloved husband of Patricia (Lefebvre) Gauthier.

He was born in Lowell, June 22, 1948, son of the late Emile J. Gauthier, Sr., and Cecile (Fournier) Gauthier. He received his education in Lowell schools; following high school he enlisted in the US Army and served during the Vietnam War.

Pete worked for the city of Lowell for close to 30 years. Prior to his retirement in 2009, Pete was employed as the City of Lowell Assistant Superintendent of the Parks Department for 22 years.

He was a former communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Church in Lowell. He was a life-member of the VFW Walker Rogers Post #662 in Lowell; a member of the Disabled American Veterans Edith N. Rogers Post #25, and the American Legion Post #462.

Family time was very important to Pete, he very much enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also loved woodworking and metal fabrication.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Emile J. "Moe" Gauthier, III and his beloved friend, Lisa Parker of Nashua; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle & David Lopez, and Kristine Gonzalez and Jorge Gonzalez, Sr., all of Nashua; two brothers and a sister-in-law, James Gauthier, and Eugene & Susan Gauthier, all of Lowell; a sister and brother-in-law, Claudette & Lenny Nelson of Lowell; eight grandchildren, Matthew Gauthier, Emile "E.J." Gauthier, IV, Jorge Gonzalez, Jr., Brandon Gauthier, Tiffany Gonzalez, David, Daniel and Kimberly Lopez; one great-granddaughter, Izabella Gonzalez; also several nieces & nephews.

GAUTHIER -- Emile "Pete", 65, of Tyngsborough. Relatives & Friends will be received at the M.R. LAURIN & SON Funeral Home, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, MA on Weds. Jan. 15 from 4:00-7:00 PM. Funeral Thursday morning with a prayer service to be held in the funeral home at 10 o'clock a.m. Interment to follow at Tyngsborough Memorial Cemetery.
