Forrest Leclair Obituary

Forrest J. Leclair
Marine Corps Veteran

DRACUT -- Forrest J. Leclair, 61, a Dracut resident, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Lowell General Hospital.

Born in Lowell on April 3, 1954, he was a son of the late Henry J. Leclair and Shirley M. (Gagnon) (Leclair) Lagasse.

Forrest attended Dracut Schools and following high school enlisted with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He served from 1972 until being honorably discharged in 1974. He was a member of the Marine Corps League - 130 Leo T. Fortier Detachment and the Disabled American Veterans, Gate City #7, Manchester, NH.

He was employed as a union carpenter, Local 111, and enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.

An avid outdoorsman, Forrest enjoyed hunting, fishing and cruising on his motorcycle. He had a tremendous personality, loved to make people laugh and was always the life of the party.

Forrest looked forward to attending Laconia Bike Week with his friends every year.

Most of his bike rides to the coast kicked off with a visit to Little Mexico in Hampstead, NH for a margarita.

Family was paramount to Forrest, especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He was ecstatic when they would come to spend the weekend with him.

He leaves a son, Forrest, Jr. of Dracut; a grandson, Gavin; a granddaughter Presley; a step daughter, Krystal Carl and her husband Timothy Ford of Dracut; a step son, Jason Carl of Dracut; five step grandchildren, Destiny Carl, Owen Ford, Emily Carl, Alice Carl and Lainey Ford; five brothers and their spouses, Dennis A. and Linda Leclair of Dracut, Ernie J. and Cindy Leclair of Hudson, NH, Robert J. and Karen Leclair of Wolfeboro, NH, Mark J. and Sandra Leclair of St. Albans, VT, Henry M. Forrest had the ability to make friends wherever he went. He had an amazing smile, and the kindest caring eyes, that made everyone around him feel at ease, even when He was dressed in leather, doing burnouts on his Harley. He was a light. May his memory be eternal! Rest in peace my friend.
