Jeannette Cogey Obituary

LOWELL - Jeannette M. (Longval) Cogey, 94, a retired factory worker, died Tuesday morning, March 18, at Salem Hospital in Salem. She was the wife of the late Sgt. Edward J. Cogey.

Born in Boston on July 28, 1908, a daughter of the late Eugene and Dulis (Germain) Longval, she attended the Nacolet School in Quebec and also the Bartlett School.

Mrs. Cogey was a communicant of St. Rita Church, and a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality of St. Rita Church and St. Jeanne D'Arc Church.

She also was a member of the Auxiliary Member Society of the First Division.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a production assistant for factories in Lowell, among them Sonoco Products, Gambit Shoes and Suffolk Knitting.

Her survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Ronald Cormier of Peabody; two granddaughters, Claudette Yutkins and her husband, Joseph, and Francine Cormier, all of Peabody; a brother and sister-in-law, Philip P. and Gertrude Longval of Lempster, N.H.; two sisters, Gertrude Boucher of Derry, N.H., and Margaret Tully of Londonderry, N.H.; a sister-in-law, Doris (Longval) Schreier of Venice, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Henrietta Lambert and Paul Longval.
