GREENFIELD, NH -- Lloyd L. Benoit, Jr., 73, resident of Greenfield, NH, died March 2, 2011, at Greenbriar Healthcare Terrace, Nashua, NH.

He was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on May 12, 1937, a son of Lloyd L. Benoit, Sr. and Mae F. (Brown) Benoit. Mr. Benoit was raised and educated in St. Johnsbury and had resided in Littleton, NH for many years before moving to Greenfield, NH in 1998.

He had been employed as a truck driver for Peerless Trucking in Nashua, NH.

Mr. Benoit was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting, tinkering with cars and taking long drives throughout New Hampshire.

He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia A. (Tardiff) Benoit, who died in 2008.

Family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Venessa E. and Michael Briere of Pelham, NH; a son, Dana C. Benoit and his longtime partner, Michelle Moreau of Merrimack, NH; two grandchildren, Jamie and Billy Briere; two step grandchildren, Mia and Jessica Moreau; one great grandson, Robert Briere; three sisters, Kathy Ireland of Groton, MA, Joyce Benoit of Westford, MA and Kim Peek of Mont Vernon, NH; three brothers, Richard Benoit of Lisbon, NH, Todd Benoit and Shawn Benoit, both of Maine; many nieces and nephews.

BENOIT -- Visiting hours are Monday, March 7th from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, followed by cremation. Burial will be in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Littleton, NH, at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, Milford.
