Carol J. Orlowski, 94, of Trail Creek, Indiana, passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at 4:23 a.m. in her home.
Private family services will be conducted. Burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, Indiana, is handling arrangements.
She was born Feb. 25, 1931, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late William and Ida May (Huff) Stradtner.
Surviving are three daughters, Brenda (Michael) Knoll of Michigan City, Indiana, Sharon Wellman of Trail Creek, Indiana, and Sandra Hosna of Trail Creek, Indiana; five grandchildren, Kori (Matt) Wagner of Atlanta, Georgia, Katie (Kevin) Labaj of Trail Creek, Indiana, Wynn Wellman of Michigan City, Indiana, Wesley Wellman of Trail Creek, Indiana, and Holton Hosna of Michigan City, Indiana; and two great-grandchildren, Laney Labaj and Luka Labaj.
She was also preceded in death by six sisters, Mabel Mitchell, Lola Mitchell, Esther Lane, Irene Beach, Edna McCoy-Whitehead and Eula Daron; and five brothers, Paul, John, Vernon, Carl and Kenneth Stradtner.
She retired after 14 years as a machine operator at ITW Redhead/Ramset and also worked at National Tea Grocery Store and as a hostess at Howard's Restaurant. Carol tutored children at Coolspring Elementary School and loved nature and gardening. She enjoyed her pets and a good cup of coffee.
