Daniel Jacobs Obituary
Daniel Lawrence Jacobs, 66, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 24, 2023, in his home.
There will be no services. He will be laid to rest in a niche in Oak Hill Memorial Park, Escondido, California. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
He was born March 6, 1957, in La Porte, Indiana, to the late Robert and Helen (Wieczorek) Jacobs.
Surviving are his two sisters, Josephine (Dennis) Bowman of Escondido, California, and Kathie Galloy of South Bend, Indiana; one brother, Robert (Marcy) Jacobs of Michiana Shores, Indiana; three nieces, Betsy Pacelli of Steger, Illinois, and Jennifer Arndt and Mary Jordan, both of South Bend, Indiana; and two nephews, John Anthony Jacobs of San Diego, California, and David Johnson of Michigan City, Indiana. Danny was preceded in death by his brother, E. John Jacobs; one sister, Carol Houmes; and brother-in-law, David Galloy.
Danny was a master craftsman who worked alongside his brother, Robert, building homes in the Michigan City area. He loved the movie "Surf's Up," his handle was 00Dorko and his favorite number was 24. He loved his family and all creatures big and small on God's great Earth. Danny was kind and a gentle man. Namaste.

Hey Danny and immediate Family. We JUST found out that you left us. We are sending our prayers and LOVE to you and your Family. It's so very hard to say goodbye, so we will just say that "we love you and miss you, we'll say your name and remember you fondly. We say "love you, see you" "we will never say good bye."

I'm sorry to hear of Daniel's passing. His brother John was my friend as a kid, starting in the first grade. I remember Bobby and Johnny well as we played a lot together when we all lived on Manhattan St. Especially baseball in the field at the end on Elston St. My brother Jerry's first date was sister Carole. It's difficult to lose a sibling and my heart is with you all at this difficult time.
