Beverly Sue Brooks, 73, of Michigan City, IN, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 2:38 p.m. at her home, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.
Beverly was born on January 29, 1952, in CT, to Jerome and Florence Brooks.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, "Jay" Leah Santana-Warren of La Porte; son-in-law, Eric Warren of La Porte; grandchildren, Jules Asher Santana of La Porte, Mitchell Harrington of CA, Chloe Bowers of CA, Kylie Oliver of CA and Zoey Oliver of CA; as well as her beloved animals. She is also survived by her by "chosen family at heart", Rebecca Bailey, who had the honor of being Beverly's "sister" and an "aunt" to daughter, Jay. Also dear to Beverly was Rebecca's daughter, Mary D'Arcangelias.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dixie Brooks-McCormick; and daughter, Ashley Oliver.
Beverly was a rescuer and warrior, whether it was to the various animals she loved or to her five former "bonus" children from former marriages, Eddie Jr., Lorraine Santana, Pauline West, Joshua Oliver and Ashley Oliver.
She held various work positions. Beverly was a clerk before conquering cosmetology schooling to become a hairdresser. She later was the off-site manager at Valley Beth Shalom Synagogue to her final position as office manager at Mount Sinai.
Beverly enjoyed horseback riding, particularly endurance racing, dancing, and karaoke. She also enjoyed collecting items of the Indian culture, looking through old photos, and supporting the Democratic Party, including supporting Democratic rallies and debates.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at Faith City Assembly of God, Michigan City.
