Edwin H. Levitin, age 98, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at The Clare in Chicago, Illinois. A service will be held on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., officiated by Rabbi Reni Dickman at Sinai Temple, located at 2800 Franklin St., Michigan City, IN 46360. Burial will follow in Sinai Temple Cemetery.
Edwin was born on Aug. 17, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York, to Herman and Jean Levitin, who have both preceded him in death. On Oct. 30, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, he married Marilyn, who has preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Michael (Meredith) Levitin of Winnetka, Illinois. His son Steven Levitin is deceased; his wife Kathleen survives in Chicago. Also surviving are grandchildren, Rachel, Hilary (Dave), Hanna (Yeuhi), Frances and Leah; and great-grandchildren, Zelda and Steven. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Morton (Rita) Levitin.
Edwin proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was also a member in Sinai Temple.
