Hubert Lemaitre Obituary
Hubert Maurice Edgar Lemaitre, age 92, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022. He was born on Feb. 26, 1930, in Paris, France, to August Roger Lemaitre and Alice Therese Valentine (Trinquet) Ferrin.
Hubert is survived by his sons, Bernard (Dawn Kmak) Lemaitre of La Porte and Frank (Ljiljana) Lemaitre of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Aaron, Kyle, Nina, Jacob, Amber, Larissa (Chris), Kristen (Tony) and Luke; great-grandchildren, Braiden, Bella, Asher, Gemma, Hazel, August, Maksym and Magnolia; and brother, Christian Lemaitre.
Hubert was preceded in death by his father; his mother; and loving stepfather, Louis Ferrin; and his beloved wife, Sylvia Lemaitre.
Hubert loved to cook. He was the chef at Long Beach Country Club. He started his culinary career at his mother's restaurant in Paris, France. Hubert loved gardening and did the landscaping for Horizon Bank. He loved animals, especially dogs, and he will be missed by his grand-dog, Toby.
Arrangements were entrusted with Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, 613 Washington Street, Michigan City, IN, 46360.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Hubert's name to Michiana Humane Society or Dunes Hospice.

Hubert has a special place in the hearts of all the McBrides and we send our sincere thoughts and prayers to his family. For many years, he made the Saturday night Notre Dame parties at LBCC so very special and there is not one person who ever attended those parties who didn't remember Hubert coming around the tables to make sure everything was more than "okay." His Beef Wellington was legendary and, more importantly, so was Hubert!
