Jane Seng, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away in the early morning hours of April 4, 2024.
She was born on the island of Maui, Hawaii, on April 29, 1941, to Olive and Dr. George von Asch. She married the love of her life on July 2, 1960. They went on to have two children.
In 1975, Jane and her family moved to St. Joseph, Michigan. Jane worked for the Benton Harbor and Saint Joseph Schools for many years. She was well known by many of the teachers and staff of the Saint Joseph school system as she made sure that the payroll was properly calculated and the paychecks went out on time. She later worked as the bookkeeper for the Nickerson Animal Health Center.
Jane loved to garden, read, sail, was deeply involved in cat rescue, and especially spending time with her beloved family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George von Asch and Olive Schehl; and her husband, Karl. She is survived by her sons, David and Peter (Stacy Enxing) Seng; grandson, Eric Seng; stepmother, Marilyn Burrows; sisters, Jill Kitowski and Susan (Jim) Schmidt; brother, Michael (Myong) von Asch; and her sister "by choice," Beth Wassilak.
Contributions in Jane's honor may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Main Street, St. Joseph; or the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan, 5400 S. Niles Rd., St. Joseph.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Joseph, with Pastor Michael Roth officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 10:15 a.m. until the time of the service.

So sad and sorry about the passing of your mom Peter and David. I was aware that her health had been in decline for the last few years and believe she is in a better place. She was always a kind aunt to me and found her amusing and funny. Our condolences and fond memories.

I knew of Pete in HS. I remember seeing him and the other swimmer boys sitting in the radiators/floor scarfing down their breakfast between morning practice and the start of school.
I´d like to offer my condolences to the entire Seng family. I´m sure the loss of Jane has left a huge hole in their hearts.
I think I can pretty comfortably say "Well done, Jane, well done."
