Jerome "Uncle Tom" Pizarek, 93, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, at 11:40 a.m. in his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, Indiana, with Rev. Robert Sprott officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana, and from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Queen of All Saints Catholic Church Legacy Center.
He was born Sept. 22, 1928, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Joseph and Mary (Mark) Pizarek.
Surviving are his brother, Jacob Pizarek of Wamego, Kansas; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was also preceded in death by five sisters, Gertrude Pizarek, Mary Jo Pizarek, Martha Bankowski, Sister Margaret Pizarek and Marcella Pizarek; and three brothers, John, Joseph and James Pizarek.
Jerome was a lifelong farmer, a school bus driver for 40 years and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church and the American Legion Skwiat Post 451. Jerome enjoyed, hunting, fishing, playing cards and going to Blue Chip Casino.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 So. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, IN, 46360, or to the Marquette Foundation, Inc., 306 W. 10th Street, Michigan City, IN, 46360.
