Kari Marie Steinert Pratt, 46, of Michigan City passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at her home in Michigan City.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Root Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Pickens officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo, Michigan. Viewing will be held on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Kari was born Dec. 31, 1975, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to David Steinert and Sharon Rieger.
Surviving are two children, Kaitlyn Steinert and Matthew Parkman; two grandchildren, A'niyah Welch and Aleigha Steinert; two sisters, Tiffany (Robert) Gross and Christine (Joe) Larsen; her fiancé, Russ Hatfield; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Kari enjoyed cooking, crocheting and watching her birds at the bird feeder. She loved connecting with people on Facebook and was always finding ways to encourage people she met there.
Kari tried her hand at a lot of different vocations including working as a security guard, a CNA and a substitute teacher.
She will be deeply missed by those who lives she touched.
