Becky Werner passed away April 19, 2022.
She was born Rebecca Lorraine Unger on Nov. 13, 1945, in La Porte, Indiana. She grew up on Park Street in La Porte and graduated from La Porte High School in 1964. She married Robert Werner of Union Mills on Jan. 3, 1970. The couple lived together on their farm until the end of her life.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Wanatah. She took classes at Purdue North Central and Indiana University South Bend. She was a 4-H leader and a softball coach. She worked as a library assistant and school bus driver at South Central Community Schools. She retired from La Porte Hospital as a pharmacy technician. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Marian Benedict chapter and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1130 Ladies Auxiliary.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Billie (Ott) Unger and William Unger Sr.; and two siblings, William Unger Jr. and Patricia Unger.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Werner of Union Mills; brother, Robert (Pearl) Unger of Mooresville, Indiana; children, Dawn (Kevin) Nicholson of La Porte and Matthew Werner of Union Mills; two grandchildren, Bryce Nicholson and Kyra Nicholson; and three nephews and one niece.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Union Mills Cemetery. Father Jerry Schweitzer will officiate. A celebration of Becky's life with food and beverages will be held at 12 noon at VFW Post 1130, McClung Road, in La Porte.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

So sorry for the family loss she was a really good person I remember her as a child when she gave me some earrings to Pierce myself theself they were Bunny playboy bunnies and she gave me her and pats old dolls and I probably wasn't speaking English very good at that time but they always took me in their room and treated me like I was a teenager just like them she will be missed wish we could have kept in touch more
