Stanley W. Gimlin Sr., 79, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 11 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Serenity Mausoleum Chapel, 5700 E. U.S. Highway 20, Michigan City, Indiana. Entombment will follow services. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, Indiana, is handling arrangements.
Stan was born March 16, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to the late John Frank and Kathryn (Blake) Gimlin Jr.
Surviving is his wife, Joyce Gimlin of Michigan City, Indiana; two daughters, Charlene Gimlin of Boise, Idaho, and Janice Hartung of San Diego, California; son, Stanley (Jennifer) Gimlin Jr. of Baldwin City, Kansas; step-son, Raymond (Judy) Striggow of La Porte, Indiana; step-daughter, Amie (Matthew) Oswald of La Porte, Indiana; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Russell and John Gimlin.
Stan retired from the U.S. Navy and worked for Chrisy Vending, Photo Machine Maintenance, Dye Plumbing & Heating Service Co. and K & L Supply, Inc. He was a member of the Moose Family Center 980 and the VFW in Colorado.
Stan enjoyed camping, yard work and eating fast food.
