Alec Wilson

Lansing - Al was born in Lansing in 1947 to Clifford and Geraldine (Montroy) Wilson. He passed away after a four-year battle with Multiple Myeloma on July 21, 2018. Al was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Preceding him in death were his parents, his older brother, Martin and his sister-in-law Leona. Surviving are his wife, Carol, daughter, Tish (Brock) Janes and grandson, Cole Janes as well as nieces/nephews/cousins and many special friends.

Al graduated from Eastern High School in 1965; upon graduation Al joined the U.S. Navy. After serving, he returned to the Lansing area. He was involved in the Jaycees, Mid-Michigan Street Rod Association and a Delta Parks and Recreation Board Member. He worked in sales and owned his own businesses.

He loved classic cars, golf, traveling and watching his grandson wrestle. Al was one of the founders and president of the Capital Area Muscle Car Club. The car club held an annual car show to raise money for Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. Al was always proud to present them with a donation, which benefited many people. If he wasn't working on his '37 Ford Coupe or attending car shows, he was golfing with "Da Boyz". During Al and Carol's 50 years of marriage they traveled the world, even making a special trip to Alaska last fall.

Al will be remembered for his compassion. He adored his wife. He was the happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. Al was Cole's biggest fan.

A Celebration of Al's life will be held Tuesday, July 31, 11:00 a.m. at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel with Stephen Ezop officiating. Interment will follow at Delta Center Cemetery, with military honors provided by the VFW Post #701. The family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

His family would like to thank his outstanding team of doctors; including Dr. Milind Karve, Dr. Tony Brandau , nurses Lynette and Kevin and Dr. Raffaello Addiego.

Al was always compassionate and understanding. I didn't know him very long and only knew him through one of his many businesses, but he always had a smile and a good story to share with me. Know that I have been thinking of him and the family often the past year as I hadn't heard much from him. I am sending all of my love and support during this difficult time. Carol and Family,
Hopefully the pain is gone and Al's in a peaceful place. His tenacity was evident in every passing day, as he struggled to extend each day. There was never a doubt as to his love family, living the best life without complaint and preserving through adversity. He set the bar high for all of us, and we thank him.
