I can't believe it's been 11 years. I still think of Joe from time to time. He was such a funny, unassuming, supportive person. I hate that he was taken so soon.

My sincere sympathies and prayers come to you at this time of difficult loss. I worked with Joe at Michigan Millers from 1994-97 and Joe made me feel welcome in the Marketing department from my first day on the job and was supportive when I lost my job there. Hw always had a way to make people laugh even in tough situations. God bless Joe, Carol, Brian and Stacy.

This news came as a shock. It's been many years since our days at Michigan Millers and Frankenmuth Mutual. I last saw Joe at the annual convention in Grand Rapids last February. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Carol, my name is Sue Holben and I worked with Joe many years ago at Michigan Millers. Although I left there in 1997 I still remember Joe and his laugh. He sure enjoyed making other people laugh and that was one of the things that made him special to his friends and I'm sure to your family. Carol, Brian, and Stacy,
Sending you my sincere sympathy and prayers in the sudden loss of such a great guy. I happened to call Jeanne tonight as I knew she was just returning from Mexico and she told me the sad news of Joe's sudden passing. I have fond memories of my college days with Jeanne at WMU and spending many evenings with you guys at your house in Kalamazoo. Brian and Stacy were little at the time but I remember the house being filled love and laughter. May you find grace and peace in the loving arms of friends and family at this difficult time.

So sorry to hear of Joes passing. He was such a fun loving, happy-go-lucky individual. He couldn't help but brighten the lives of those he was around. He was my mgr. for only a brief time, shortly after starting at MMMI, but always said I should come back to his dept & work with him since he taught me everything I know.....our ongoing joke. :) A special man, a great loss, but he will no doubt continue to make people smile with his memory.

Oh Joe, always a smile and a great sense of humor. I'll think of him when ever I head over to Comm'l Lines... Him sniffing his nose and saying...... I smell Personal Lines. Always making people laugh.
My heart is heavy, my thoughts and prayers for all of you, (Carol, Brian, Stacy and extended family and friends) will continue as you take the difficult journey.
Joe will always be remembered and truly be missed.

Jane and I met you on the Toronto trip. We worked with Joe for a number of years. He has even visited our office. Joe was very knowledgeable, a hard worker and always a straight shooter. He will be missed. Our prayers and sympathy to you and your family.

Joe was my commercial underwriter and friend. He was always helpful and with good humor eventhough we he was a "green and white guy" and I a maiz in blue guy we had many a fun conversation. Carol and Family,
I have lost a new but seemingly long time friend. Kevin Page introduced Joe a little over four months ago as our agency's new marketing underwriter.
Joe and I immediately hit it off as he like me, loved sports, MSU and writing new buiness. We talked every day in our mutual attempt to bring Michigan Millers back from a B++ rating to an A-or even higher.
His cheerful spirit was contagious as was his zeal for life. Never a discouraging remark did he make when we went 0 for 4 with our new business quotes in October.
So encouraging was his personality and committment to Michigan Millers that between Joe (Kari Corser)and I, that we wrote $250,000 in new business in just the few months we knew each other!
I told my wife Linda, that my heart aches to think we have lost such a good underwriter and friend.

Carol & Family,
My heart was sadden to hear of Joe's home coming. You and the family will be in my thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks a head. I had the apportunity to work with Joe when he first came on board with Michigan Millers, and to work with him when oversaw the sales reps in California. He did have a dry sense of humor, witty, but really love the insurance business. I know he will be missed by many.

I worked with Joe @ Michigan Millers for the past 6 1/2 years. He was great and always looking for a way to make people laugh. Since I've been back from maternity leave, he always asked how Little Joey (nickname he gave to my son, Ethan) was doing, whenever he was in the office. I don't remember him calling me by my first name since I got married last year either, it was always, "Hello Mrs. Hal-Dane". He emphasized the middle of my new last name for some reason, it's just one word but he always put emphasis on the "l" and "d".

Carol and family,
Janet and I are deeply saddened with the passing of Joe. I'm lucky to have worked with Joe in the early-mid 90's while with Michigan Millers. His sense of humor and quick wit was second to none. We kept in touch from time to time exchanging e mails and phone calls. I will miss them. We hold you and your family in our hearts and prayers.

I worked with Joe @ Michigan Millers for 8 years. He truly was a very special person and a great supervisor. What a tragedy, but we do have the blessed hope of the second coming of Jesus Christ and I am sure he will be there. I will pray for your family, even though I have moved away the memory of him will be a positive one. I know of the pain you are feeling, I lost my brother this year and he was only 47. The pain does go away slowly especially as we keep our mind on Christ and His sacrifice for us. I am sorry that I could not make it, but my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
