Modesta Velasquez Obituary

Modesta "Mo" (Limon) Velasquez Lansing Formerly of San Antonio, TX Passed away January 1, 2014 at the age of 83. She was born February 24, 1930 to the late Jose and Guadalupe (Luna) Limon in Chicago, IL. Modesta loved music and dancing. She was an avid board game player and especially enjoyed Bingo. She is preceded in death by 2 sons, Freddie Velasquez and Pablo Galaviz, 4 sisters, 2 brothers, and former husband Florentino Velasquez. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Estela (Adam) Alaniz, Delphina Gonzales, and Yolanda Velasquez, 2 sons, Jose (Debra) and Eluterio "Lu" (Becky) Velasquez, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. The funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, January 10, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Cristo Rey Parish with Rev. Fr. Frederick Thelen as Celebrant. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday at the church at 9:30. Contributions may be made to Modesta's family in her memory. Condolences may be made at www.palmerbush.com
