Robert Hendee Obituary
Portland
Age 88, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015. He was born on August 31, 1926 in Woodland, MI the son of Hal and Lula (Brooks) Hendee. Mr. Hendee was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portland, a member of the Portland V.F.W. Post #4090, and was a member of the U.A.W. #324 Operators and Engineers for 50 years, and was Treasurer of the union for many years. Robert enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, playing cards, and loved his horses. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 62 years, Barbara; siblings, Fred (Mae) Hendee, Raymond Hendee, Dwayne Hendee, Gayla Stafford, Arlene Thelen, and Lenora Hendee; brothers-in-law, Dale Stiffler, and 2 infants. Surviving are his children, Brenda (Ronald Shinaver, Jr) Dumas, Diane Hendee, Gary (Luann) Hendee, and James Hendee; grandchildren, Duane (Amy) Hendee, Craig (Marissa) Hendee, Kimberly (Bob) Loomis, and Jesse Dumas; great grandchildren, Katelyn, Nicholas and Tyler Hendee, Matthew Hendee, Sam Bucio, and Caleb Loomis; in-laws, Ted (Orpha) Stiffler, Robert (Connie) Stiffler, Gladys Stiffler, Jerome Thelen, Dorothy Hendee, and Joyce Peterson; many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 26, 2015 at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland, with Pastor Gary Coleman of the First Baptist Church presiding. Interment will follow at Danby Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Portland, in memory of Mr. Hendee. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.

Rest in Peace gramps. Say hi to grandma for me. I hope you are playing cards with grandma, aunt Arlene, uncle Fred, aunt Mae, uncle Ray and having a hoot. We'll continue to keep you alive in memory by telling stories around the campfire up north, and seeing who catches the first fish.
