Dear Sue and Family, We just heard today of Bob's passing, and we are very sorry for your loss. Vic has so many wonderful memories of their years working together and of you and your beautiful family. We both have great memories of our 2000 cruise out of Miami commemorating the depot managers.
Twice in the past six months I've thought of Bob and had such good intentions of writing him a note to thank him for his intuitive kindness sent to us in a note over twenty years ago.
We had recently relocated, and our Christmas letter included a comment stating that our son was adjusting but our daughter was struggling as life was particularly difficult for teenage girls. That letter was sent to many people, including two pastors, but only Bob and Sue responded.
Their Christmas card arrived with a personal note from Bob: "Yes, Bren, life is difficult for teenage girls, and it's also difficult for their parents; but it does get better!" I was totally amazed that he had obviously picked up on my unspoken struggle, understood, and cared enough to take the time to write me a note of encouragement at a time when I truly needed hope. I was so grateful.
The story of Bob's Blessing has been shared countless times, and I regret that I never told him how much his kindness meant to me. I will never forget how special he made me feel, and he will always hold a special place in my heart.

My condolences to Mrs. Longman and the entire Longman family. Mr. Longman was a great man who lived his faith daily. He was kind and generous to a multitude of young people and gave of himself without hesitation to anyone in need. His dedication to his family gave great witness to the Gospel message. His unwavering commitment to ACND was a blessing for so many. We, Christian Brothers who knew him are grateful for his presence in our lives. May he Rest in Peace
